Life is just 50% showing up for it.
That’s not so hard, right? (Ask me that on a Monday.)
Give yourself credit. There are many mornings you didn’t have to fight the good fight, push through the struggle, or change your attitude about your day, your life, your kids, or your spouse. But you do. Congratulations, it’s not any more complicated than that. You graduated. You took the job. You support yourself and/or someone else. Some of you are ‘givers’ to everyone but yourself. Own that. Some of you are circling around disappointments or depression. You are not alone. Keep going. You impact others in a positive way.
Your smile does matter to those around you. Your compassion is relevant in the lives of the mundane daily rituals of others. Arguably, the most important part of life is our relationship to others. If loneliness is on the rise, and I estimate that it is, then it’s the little interactions in the coming years that will impact us. In the world of text, internet, email, Instagram, Snapchat, no one has to call just to say I love you. You are showing up, pushing through, hashing it out, hashtagging your way through the day at times, but keep it up! You’re doing fantastic. Take an inventory of people around you with their litany of personal trials. You are not alone. You’re KILLING IT! Keep going. Thanks for showing up. Stay inspired.
